Florida man with drug record detained again

Officials have taken a 33-year-old man into custody on drug charges in Okeechobee. The man is suspected of possessing both marijuana and amphetamine in his home. Officials also reported finding a large quantity of currency at the time a search warrant was served on July 18. The felony drug charges include possession of marijuana in excess of 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in amphetamine and intent to sell marijuana within close range of a church. Bond has been set at $80,000.

Florida residents may be surprised at the location of an alleged drug incident in California. Two men, ages 28 and 27, were charged after officials received a report of their presence in a Chuck E. Cheese bathroom stall. A customer at the establishment contacted officers, indicating that the men were using drugs in the location. The 28-year-old man has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. While the paraphernalia is a misdemeanor charge, the controlled substance issue is considered a felony charge. Both men are charged with being under the influence of a controlled drug, a misdemeanor.

Jesus Wilson, a 19-year-old Florida State football player, has been charged in relation to his alleged theft of a motor scooter. A man who had parked the scooter on the Florida State campus on Atomic Way reported the vehicle missing when he returned to his parking spot on June 11. On June 17, authorities detained Wilson as he was using the scooter to travel. Damage to the vehicle was evident at the time of the traffic stop. Reports indicate Wilson stated he borrowed the allegedly stolen vehicle from someone at his school.

An individual reportedly contacted 911 around 8 p.m. regarding two men seen within a truck company's fenced compound. As officers arrived, they called to the individuals, but the men reportedly fled in different directions.

Police have detained a 19-year-old man who they believe to be responsible for multiple thefts of pickup trucks throughout southwest Florida in the recent months. After police found two of the stolen trucks in the parking lot of an apartment complex, an undercover officer waited to see if someone would return to them. According to reports, the man did come back and allegedly got out of his vehicle wearing white gloves. The officer then claimed he saw the man going inside one of the stolen trucks.
