2 Florida men accused of Walmart robberies

Florida authorities reported that they took two people believed to have been involved in two robberies into custody on Nov. 18. The two incidents reportedly occurred on Nov. 13 and Nov. 18 respectively.

Both of the alleged robberies occurred at a Clearwater Walmart. In the first robbery, the accused allegedly implied that he was in possession of a weapon. Police did not indicate if they thought this to be true. In the second robbery, the accused entered the retailer with a plastic bag obscuring his face. He allegedly demanded money from an employee who was working at the customer service counter. The man then fled from the scene in a red 2000 Saturn. Police stated that there was a second man in the car.

The authorities were reportedly able to track down the location of the two men allegedly involved by the red Saturn. The vehicle was spotted parked behind a local bar, and both men were discovered inside. They were identified as a 26-year-old man and a 28-year-old man. When questioned, the 28-year-old man allegedly admitted to the robberies while the other man denied his involvement. Both men were taken into custody and were each charged with one count of robbery with a firearm implied and one count of robbery.

Someone who is accused of robbery or theft risks certain penalties, including an extensive fine and probation. If the value of what was allegedly stolen was high enough, they may also face a jail sentence. Because a robbery or theft charge can be disruptive to the person's life, an attorney can potentially negotiate with the prosecution in order to reduce any consequences.
