It was reported on Sept. 6 that a Florida doctor was taken into custody after he was accused of providing prescriptions for hydrocodone to at least two people in exchange for methamphetamine. Three people were taken into custody on drug-related charges in Florida after police officers conducted a traffic stop on their vehicle for a faulty brake light. According to the report, the traffic stop took place around 11 p.m. on Aug. 5.

Florida man with drug record detained again

Officials have taken a 33-year-old man into custody on drug charges in Okeechobee. The man is suspected of possessing both marijuana and amphetamine in his home. Officials also reported finding a large quantity of currency at the time a search warrant was served on July 18. The felony drug charges include possession of marijuana in excess of 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in amphetamine and intent to sell marijuana within close range of a church. Bond has been set at $80,000.

A police search of the woman's home, located in Homestead, allegedly led to the discovery of 39 grams of marijuana and 111 grams of cocaine. Investigators also claimed to have discovered equipment used to package and process cocaine into crack cocaine including beakers and scales.
