Three face drug charges after home search

Three people in Florida are facing drug charges after the Lane County Sheriff's Office searched a home in Woodville on March 8. When police entered the home with a search warrant, they claim to have found methamphetamine, fentanyl and over $1,000 in cash. A 38-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were charged with a number of drug offenses; a 43-year-old man was also taken into custody.

Police had reportedly carried out undercover purchases of drugs at the home on Roean Morgan Road before obtaining a warrant for a search. The woman and the 37-year-old man lived permanently in the home while the 43-year-old was staying there temporarily. During the search, the woman reportedly told police that any drugs present belonged to her jailed former boyfriend.

According to sources, she admitted to selling methamphetamine after originally stating that the drugs were contained in locked containers in a bedroom to which she did not have access. However, both the man and the woman were found to have keys. Police said that the boxes and safe contained marijuana, morphine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, Butane hash oil, pipes, scales, baggies and a loaded firearm. Allegedly, there were over 40 grams of meth present, less than 20 grams of marijuana and two grams of fentanyl.

The man and woman who lived in the home face an array of drug charges, including sale of methamphetamine, trafficking of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house, possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 43-year-old guest was charged with possession of methamphetamine found in his pocket.

People who are dealing with drug charges in Florida could be facing extremely serious consequences, including costly fines, jail time and a felony criminal record. A criminal defense lawyer may help mount a defense for people accused of drug offenses, including challenging law enforcement practices and searches.
