Neighborhood complaints lead Florida police to meth lab

Police in Florida say that complaints from angry and frustrated neighbors led them to a Putnam County home being used to manufacture methamphetamine. One resident told reporters that cars would arrive at and depart from the property at all hours of the day and night. Two men and a woman were taken into custody at the scene in connection with the alleged meth lab and all have been charged with multiple narcotics felonies according to media accounts of the operation.

Six peopled arrested for alleged marijuana trafficking

In mid-November, Florida authorities arrested six people for allegedly taking part in a drug ring that shipped hundreds of pounds of marijuana from California to Jacksonville. The arrests brought an end to "Operation Going Back to Cali," a four-month-long investigation by the police.

School security guard faces drug charges

A Florida school security guard lost his job after being arrested for several drug charges on Nov. 5. The 43-year-old man was employed at Felix Varela Senior High School; however, he was arrested from his home and is now facing multiple accusations. Undercover police claim that they saw the man selling drugs to another man at a local gas station located near the high school campus. The sale reportedly took place during school hours, but there is as of yet no evidence that students were involved.

Florida man accused of flushing cocaine down toilet

Police claim that a 39-year-old Florida man tried to dispose of cocaine by flushing it down a toilet when detectives arrived at his Sarasota home on Oct. 11 to execute a search warrant. The man was taken into custody at the scene on drug possession and trafficking charges and was released the following day after posting a $50,000 bond.

Sheriff deputy's conduct leads to release of inmates.

Due to the alleged misconduct of a sheriff's in a neighboring county of Tallahassee, Florida, a number of convicted prisoners have been set free. The purported actions of the officer in question have led to an investigation by both state and county law enforcement agencies. The investigation could lead to the dismissal of current charges against other defendants as well as the release of further prisoners.

Florida man caught with cocaine after traffic stop

A 47-year-old man landed in jail for cocaine possession after a deputy from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office pulled over his car for allegedly not using a turn signal during a lane change. The driver stopped his vehicle on the Overseas Highway close to Ocean Bay Drive in Key Largo. A spokesman for the sheriff's office said that the man argued with the deputy and demanded to speak to the deputy's supervisor because there was no reason to be pulled over.

10 arrested in drug bust linked to drug trafficking

Law enforcement agents spent a year gathering evidence against 10 people arrested on charges of distributing heroin, fentanyl and methamphetamine in central Florida. According to the director of the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, a 30-year-old man taken into custody was selling large quantities of heroin and fentanyl in Orange County. At the time of his arrest, police claimed that he had 3 kilograms of heroin and a gun in his possession.

Florida man facing drug charges after traffic stop

A 46-year-old Florida man was charged with drug possession and trafficking on the evening of Sept. 4 after officers with the Marianna Police Department allegedly discovered significant quantities of marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA during a routine traffic stop in Jackson County. Reports indicate that the man was transported to an area detention facility after being taken into custody.
