When a teenager is accused of being involved in a serious crime, there may be concern for the well-being of the juvenile as well as for how the legal case should be handled. The parents of an individual facing felony charges may wish to determine the best routes for their child in hopes of working toward the best possible outcomes. The parents of one Florida teen may soon be exploring their options for such a situation.

Reports stated that a 15-year-old boy was taken into custody after being accused of arson. The fire in question reportedly caused 50 acres of woods to burn and led to a home also being destroyed. Authorities were apparently alerted to the situation around 3 p.m., and it took approximately three hours to have the fire under control.

It is unclear what may have caused the teen to fall under suspicion, but he has been suspected of playing with a lighter in the area where the fire occurred. As a result, he is currently facing a felony arson charge. It was also noted that he will apparently remain in custody until a court appearance next month.

Facing felony charges at such a young age could have a substantial impact on the teenage boy’s life. Therefore, his parents will likely want to make the most meaningful legal decisions possible with their son’s best interests in mind. If they would like assistance in this endeavor, they may wish to discuss his case with an experienced attorney in order to better understand what may be expected of them and their son during Florida criminal proceedings.
