Crimes considered to be larceny in Florida

In Florida, larceny refers to the crime of taking property from another party. It can also occur when the owner of an item is denied the right to use it in a constructive manner. Furthermore, an individual may be guilty of such an offense if he or she carries or rides away with an object. Examples of larceny include riding off with a bike, stealing car parts or taking money from a coin-operated machine.

School security guard faces drug charges

A Florida school security guard lost his job after being arrested for several drug charges on Nov. 5. The 43-year-old man was employed at Felix Varela Senior High School; however, he was arrested from his home and is now facing multiple accusations. Undercover police claim that they saw the man selling drugs to another man at a local gas station located near the high school campus. The sale reportedly took place during school hours, but there is as of yet no evidence that students were involved.
